Deborah Meyler
A psychotherapist and writer in Cambridge, England.
I am a psychoanalytic psychotherapist, having trained for five years with the Cambridge Society for Psychotherapy. I am also a novelist, and have degrees from Oxford University (1989) and St Andrews University (1991) and a diploma from City University, London.
I grew up to the north of Manchester, then went to university, and afterwards lived for a few years in New York. I have lived in Cambridge for the last twenty years. From about 2015 to 2019, whilst also training as a therapist, I had a strange, funny and rewarding job working for Clive James, a job which mostly involved arguing about poetry. I am interested in psychoanalysis, poetry and the visual arts. I am glad that the world, to steal from Louis MacNeice, is "incorrigibly plural".
