I am a therapist and writer, having trained for five years with the Cambridge Society for Psychotherapy. I have a B.A. in English Literature from Oxford University (Trinity College) and an M.Phil in American Literature from St Andrews University; also a Postgraduate Certificate in Journalism from City, University of London.

My first novel, The Bookstore, is set in New York and published by Simon & Schuster in the US and Bloomsbury in the UK.

I grew up in Manchester, lived for a few years in New York, and currently live in Cambridge with a daughter and two more daughters when they are home from university. I am interested in poetry, psychoanalysis and the visual arts. I am glad that the world is "incorrigibly plural".
